In May 2011, John and Cindy Spillane lost their warehouse to a massive EF-5 tornado, but they didn’t lose their Outrageously Dependable® attitude. IBS of Southwest Missouri was among many businesses destroyed by the tornado outside Joplin, the single deadliest storm to hit the state of Missouri since the 1920s.

With the help of both independent and company-owned Interstate Batteries® Distributors, the Spillanes were operating from a temporary warehouse within a week. And now IBS of Southwest Missouri has a new permanent home at 3720 E. 20^th St. in Joplin. The distributorship celebrated with a grand reopening on July 21.
