Team Interstate‘s Justin Brayton was still suffering the effects of a crash during practice last week where he hurt both of his hands, but the JGRMX rider fought through the pain Saturday night in Phoenix.

Brayton and JGRMX teammate Josh Grant competed in Round 2 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series at Chase Field. Brayton and Grant both transferred easily from their heat race to the main event.

But there, more adversity found Brayton at the first turn. Another rider lost control and collected Brayton in an accident, leaving him to restart his machine and try to come from the back. Grant quickly secured his spot in the top 10 and held on for a 10th-place finish. Brayton finished the main event in 15th position.

Next week: The Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team visits Angel Stadium of Anaheim for the second time already this season. The event takes place Saturday night, and the tape-delayed broadcast begins at noon CST Sunday on CBS.
