Team Interstate Shows Improvement in Anaheim
Team Interstate overcame more obstacles in Saturday’s third round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., finishing with two top-10s. Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX rider Justin Brayton, who has been recovering from injuries suffered during the first race of the season, was feeling much improved, winning his qualifying race. Teammate Josh Grant, who had been healthy so far this year, had a severe bout with the flu this week and was unable to train. Still, Grant managed to qualify for the main event.
Brayton began the main toward the back of the field, with Grant inside the top 10. Brayton methodically moved forward while Grant reeled off consistent laps. At the finish line, Brayton had advanced to eighth, while Grant finished 10th for the night.
Next week: The tour travels to Oakland, Calif., for round four of the 17-race series.
