Bad Luck Bites JGRMX Again
The 2013 Supercross season is young, but so far luck isn’t on Team Interstate‘s side. Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX teammates Justin Brayton and Josh Grant showed dominance early during the third Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship series stop in Anaheim, but once again ended the day outside the podium.
Brayton and Grant mounted a fierce battle in their heat race, with Brayton pulling out front at the first turn. Grant quickly moved into the lead, and the two fought neck-and-neck for the whole race. Brayton won the heat, with Grant close behind in second.
The main event didn’t go as well for Team Interstate. Rain made the track surface slick and unpredictable. Although Brayton shot out of the gate to lead early, an accident in turn three collected both him and Grant. Brayton restarted the race from the tail end of the field, and Grant restarted in 14th. At the halfway mark, Grant suffered a crash and was unable to finish, while Brayton recovered to finish in 10th place.
Team Interstate Hospitality Tent
Coach Joe Gibbs and son Coy, owner of JGRMX, treated a handful of Interstate guests to a behind-the-scenes tour and meet-and-greet in the Team Interstate hospitality tent. It was the first time for us to host hospitality at a Supercross event, and we plan a few more throughout the season.
Next week: The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series travels to San Diego.
