Easter thoughts from our Chaplain’s Dept.
By Adam Bowman, Interstate Batteries® Assistant Chaplain
Easter season reminds us of the hope we have in Christ. To many that is a confusing statement. How can the death of Christ bring hope? Because the story doesn’t end with Christ on the cross, it ends with His resurrection and victory over death.
Christ set aside His divinity and became man so that He could offer Himself up as the perfect sacrifice for our sin. He died, was buried, and rose from the grave so that we could spend eternity with Him. Our sin caused us to owe a debt we could never repay, and Christ graciously stepped into pay that debt on our behalf.
John 3.16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Christ died so that anyone who believes in Him can have everlasting life! Anyone. That is the hope we have in Christ. That is the hope we are called to share with the world. Christ commanded his disciples in Matthew 28.19-20, “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Let Easter be a reminder that our salvation is not something we should hide but something that we should share freely with the world.
