Team Interstate: 2 Top 5s in Chicago
While the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series took a rare weekend off, the Nationwide circuit rolled into Chicago Sunday. Team Interstate’s Elliott Sadler and Brian Vickers again proved they belong in the championship hunt with solid top-5 finishes.
Sadler dominated early in the race but struggled at the end, hanging on for a fourth-place finish. He remains fourth in the championship standings, just 20 points behind the leader, Sam Hornish Jr. Vickers finished fifth Sunday and sits in sixth place in the standings, 45 points back.
Joey Coulter, driving the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota usually piloted by Kyle Busch, finished 14th.

Edwards Faces Test in Colorado
Edwards qualified No. 8, his lowest starting position of the season. During Friday’s first qualifying session, Edwards broke a rear spool and between runs inserted new gears. After the second qualifying run, however, his car was found to be five pounds lighter than the mandatory 2,350 lb. minimum. The error meant his faster qualifying time in the second session was ineligible.
In eliminations, Edwards defeated Jeg Coughlin Jr. in the first round but lost to Allen Johnson in the second.
“Based on how the weekend started, we were fortunate to pick up a round win and come out with a tough lesson in making sure to pay attention to the little things,” Edwards said.
Grant 7th in Motocross
Team Interstate’s Josh Grant rode with speed and consistency this weekend at Washougal MX Park in Washington, but an accident involving another rider in the second moto caused problems that relegated him to a disappointing finish. Grant finished the day in seventh place, while teammate Justin Brayton finished 15th. Read more (JGRMX.com)
