Power to Cure the Terrible, Mixed-up, No Good, Very Bad Day
Ever had one of those bad days where the universe is a Rube Goldberg machine, and you’re the little ball?
That’s what kind of day Dallas resident Meredith Rigby had before she rolled into our Interstate All Battery Center in Dallas.
Her bad day started about a month earlier, when a 14-year-old stole her car. The police found it and impounded it, leaving gallons of 7-Up inside. While her insurance negotiated releasing the vehicle, the Texan heat released the soft drink on her car seats – explosively. She had to leave the car with a detailing company overnight. They, in turn, left her interior light on overnight. (You see where this is going.)
As a waitress in Dallas, she relies on her car, especially to get to work that day. After getting her car jump-started twice (because an accidental shut-off at a gas station), Meredith is understandably flustered, frustrated and, by the way, a little hot from the mid-August heat.
Enter Curtis Smith, Assistant Manager at Interstate All Battery Center.
“Customer service is number one in my book, and I just try to make everyone happy,” Curtis said. “I want to make sure my attitude is always in check.”
He listened to her problem and solved it, from the discharged battery to the frazzled customer. Beyond replacing the battery under warranty, Curtis made an effort to assure Meredith that her day was going to get better.
“He calmed me down and took care of everything,” Meredith said. “It sounds so simple, but the little kindness he showed really turned my day around.”
