Team Interstate: Kyle Wrecks in All-Star Race; Hornish Wins in Iowa
Team Interstate’s Kyle Busch was a strong contender in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday night. He started from the second position, won the first of the five segments and appeared to have one of the fastest cars on the track. But an accident in the second segment ended his night.
The race didn’t count in the championship points standings, although Kyle was disappointed that he couldn’t contend for the $1 million prize in his M&Ms/Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry. His Team Interstate companions – Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 20 Toyota Camry, and Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry – finished third and ninth, respectively. Jamie McMurray won the race.
