Team Interstate’s Kyle Busch was a mainstay among the top-10 for the first 70 laps of Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400 race at Michigan International Speedway.

Unfortunately for the driver of the No. 18 M&M’s/Interstate Batteries Toyota, an issue with a left-rear wheel hub sent him to the garage for significant repairs on lap 79. By the time his team made the proper repairs, he returned to the track 26 laps down and eventually finished 41st.

“I could tell there was something not right with the car, I just didn’t know what the problem was since I’ve never felt that before,” Kyle said. “The guys did a quick repair for something like that, but all you can do is ride around the rest of the time and try to learn as much as you can for when we come back here in August.”

Kyle’s Team Interstate companions – Matt Kenseth in the No. 20 Toyota Camry and Denny Hamlin in the No. 11 Toyota Camry – finished 14th and 29th, respectively. Jimmie Johnson won the race.
