A Lot Changes in 10 Years, Except This One Thing
When you buy a battery, usually you just hope it lasts as long as possible. You don’t imagine keeping your battery until you’re too old to even use the car it’s in.
Maybe you will after hearing about Interstate Batteries fan Steven Jones and his truck battery.
This California native bought two Interstate batteries at Big O Tires for his 1997 Ford F350 Power Stroke Crew Cab back in 2004.
Since then, America started using smartphones – a little too much. A worldwide recession introduced everyone to the dollar store concept. And the New York State Fair debuted chocolate-covered bacon. (Keep trying, guys.)
And all that time, Steven’s battery reliably cranked his truck.
“I only ever had to add a little water and clean them,” he said. “They have been fantastic as at times I’ve had a cold diesel engine that didn’t want to start. Those batteries held up every time and have never let me down.”
Now, in 2015, they’re starting to show their age. After a battery test to eliminate the possibility of electrical problems, Steven will go shopping for another set of Interstates.
“If they last as long as these have, I’ll probably be too old to climb in the truck,” he said. “One thing that hasn’t changed in 10 years is quality is quality. Your batteries are proof of that.”
“I look forward to writing you in 2024. I’m sure I will.”
