Many of us don’t know what battery brand came with our car when we first purchased it.

Jeff Severson knows.

“I just replaced by 13-year-old Interstate battery today. It held up for all those years in northern Illinois. I just wanted to tell you how awesome your batteries are,” Jeff said.

Jeff has had to change his car battery every 5 years when using different brands. In the case of his 1999 Altima, though, only an Interstate battery has endured the Illinois winters.

“I don’t believe I had an Interstate battery before, but I have always heard very good things about them,” he said.

This battery was already 5 years old when Jeff purchased his Altima in 2007. It had plenty of starting power, even through the frigid weather. He bought a backup starter pack and kept it in his car just in case. While his own battery has powered on, Jeff wound up using his starter pack to start other people’s cars.

Last winter, he decided to change his Interstate battery, even though it still started his car on the coldest days. At 13 years old, a battery is pushing toward the end of his life. So a little preventive maintenance can save Jeff from being stranded. Jeff said he wanted to replace it with something he trusted.

“An Interstate battery,” he said.

Can’t wait to hear from you again, Jeff! See you next decade!

That does not look like a IL. car, it would of been a rust bucket in 13 years.i know i live in this corrupt state.

Interstate Silver battery just quit on me last week. It was just over 2 years old, barely out of warranty. The winter cold probably had something to do with it, but even so, I was disappointed.

Yeah right, they are total crap now I bought one brand new and it don't make it but two years, of course just log enough where I still have to pay for the new one. Interstate sucks, they are twice as expensive and still Chinese garbage!

We had one in our accord. Didn't even last a full year.

If you rely on a battery for more than 3 years without changing it, it's going to let you down.

yes, as expected lazy uneducated dealer. I've been selling Interstates for 35 years, it takes people who are hard working, good listeners, and customer service oriented to solve peoples problems. Glad you found something you're happy with, if you had gone to someone who knew the product well you may have had a different feel for things....(A lot of these posts are from Florida... Don't know what's going on down there.)Lol

They said it was to much paperwork and trouble getting reimbursement from interstate went to 4 local dealers. Yes it is a shame but point was I'v always used ever start or optimum never had a problem but bought 2 trucks with interstate and they both are garbage. Not to mention the 3rd 1 I have that came with my travel trailor lol

There should never be a hassle getting warranty on a bad battery. It's a shame you had problems because if a battery is truly bad the dealer would also get warranty on them. Sounds like whoever you brought them to was either lazy and not up to speed on how the system works.

I just bought two in dec. this is the only battery i will ever buy. Fleet Farm sells the worst batteries and tires .Never buy either from there .

I wouldn't expect the next one to last that long. The last four interstate batteries I bought didn't make it through the warranty.
