Interstate Batteries Fundraising Powers SkillsUSA Students’ Dreams
When the curtain goes up next week in Kansas City for the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (June 24-28), many of the nearly 6,000 students in attendance will be there because of Interstate Batteries. The battery retailer is the official fundraising partner for SkillsUSA, a national program designed to help students find their way to success.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
“Since partnering with SkillsUSA last fall, it has been wonderful watching these dedicated students work toward a bright and successful future in the workforce,” said Leslie Lawrence, director of Interstate Batteries Fundraising. “Interstate Batteries is proud to be in attendance at the national conference supporting the students and teachers in this important mission.”
The 49th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City is a showcase of career and technical education students. Quality career and technical education is the centerpiece of the conference, as more than 15,000 students, teachers, education leaders and representatives from more than 1,100 national corporations, trade associations, businesses and labor unions will participate in the event. A special highlighted event will be the annual SkillsUSA Championships June 25-27 with 98 hands-on skill and leadership competitions.
Those attending the leadership conference can have their photos taken next to the No. 18 Interstate Batteries NASCAR show car on display at the Interstate Batteries Fundraising exhibit area (June 25-27). In addition, Kyle Busch and other drivers from the Kyle Busch Motorsports team will be appearing at the booth for autographs from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 26.
Interstate Batteries has developed a practical, proven and profitable fundraising program suitable for any size group. Offering the benefits of 50% profit, free shipping, and no minimum order, the Interstate Batteries Fundraising Team will see that your group enjoys a successful campaign from launch to product delivery.
SkillsUSA students sell a wide variety of Interstate Batteries products for every home use, from AAA, AA, C, D and 9V batteries to flashlights and organizers with testers. The average household uses 24 different battery-operated devices. For each Interstate Batteries product SkillsUSA students sell, 50 percent of the proceeds go back to the organization.
